To many, John Britten (1950–95) was the embodiment of kiwi horse ingenuity – someone with a ‘can do’ attitude, a shoestring budget, and a hands-on approach, who could put together an internationally competitive product in his own backyard in Christchurch. Sadly, John Britten died from cancer, at age 45.
